Every autumn in the remote Altai Mountains of Western Mongolia, Kazakh eagle hunters and their magnificent golden eagles gather for one of the world's most extraordinary cultural festivals. For over a thousand years — practiced since the time of Genghis Khan himself — this art of hunting with eagles has been passed down through generations. Recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the Golden Eagle Festival is not just a spectacle. It is a living tradition, and you will be part of it. This 14-day expedition takes you from the sweeping dunes of Elsen Tasarkhai to the ancient Mongol capital at Karakorum, across volcanic highlands to the bird-rich shores of Lake Uvs, and finally into the Altai heartland where the eagle hunters compete in speed, agility, and skill.
