Mongolia Photography Expedition

Experience three extraordinary worlds of Mongolia in one photography expedition — photograph the Tsaatan reindeer herders in the remote northern taiga, Kazakh eagle hunters in the Altai Mountains, and Bactrian camel caravans among the towering dunes of the Gobi Desert.

This 17-day Mongolia Photography Expedition is designed for photographers who want to capture the extraordinary cultural and natural diversity of Mongolia in a single journey.

From the remote forests of northern Mongolia to the dramatic Altai Mountains and the vast Gobi Desert, this expedition connects three completely different photographic worlds.

In the north, travel into the taiga to meet and photograph Tsaatan reindeer herders, their families, reindeer and traditional way of life. Continue west to Bayan-Ölgii, home of Mongolia's Kazakh eagle hunters, for specially arranged portrait and action photography sessions with hunters, horses and golden eagles.

The final chapter takes you south to the legendary Khongor Sand Dunes in the Gobi Desert, where Bactrian camels and their herders create spectacular photographic opportunities against enormous dunes, desert light and open horizons.

Unlike a conventional sightseeing tour, this journey is built around photography. We prioritize sunrise and sunset light, environmental portraits, cultural encounters, landscapes and carefully arranged photography sessions rather than simply moving from attraction to attraction.

Because domestic flights within Mongolia do not operate every day and schedules may change seasonally, the itinerary includes flexible days in Ulaanbaatar between major regions. The order of Northern Mongolia, Western Mongolia and the Gobi may be adjusted according to the confirmed domestic flight schedule.
